The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Benjamin Konishi can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Frank Green
Condolence: I have known Dr. Ben as my vet when living in Alamosa. He was a customer when I worked at Safeway.
A few years ago I was working for Frontier Airlines and one day a couple got on my electric cart to go to baggage. While on our way they told me they were from Alamosa and that their name was Konishi. I knew then it was Dr. Ben. Yes it was Dr. Ben and his lovely wife Bessie. I Knew and attended school with a few of the Yosheda family. Also, I lived in Waverly near their farm..
I offer my condolences to both the Konishi and the Yosheda families.

Condolence: It's hard to think of Ben and not smile. Such an impish sense of humor.

He saved many of our good friends from certain death.

The world will be a poorer place without him.

Condolence From: Tom & Stephanie Miyake
Condolence: Tom has spoken so fondly of Uncle Ben throughout our 30-plus years together. Among his memories are "Uncle Ben was one of the most giving people I've ever met, especially in his profession as a veterinarian"; "Uncle Ben was always so kind to me, even when I was a kid"; and "I so admired the wonderful way in which Uncle Ben lived his life." We are both grateful and better people for having known Uncle Ben. Our deepest sympathies and love to you, Aunt Bessie

Condolence: Dr. Konishi was our veterinarian for several years while we had dairy cows. He was a big help to my father in upgrading the dairy business. Often after finishing milking at night, we would leave a cow or two in the barn for him to treat when he arrived later in the evening. The next morning we would find a note of what treatment he had done.
In 1968, I asked him to write a letter of recommendation for me to attend veterinary school in California. I was admitted to veterinary school in 1969 and have been a practicing veterinarian in Arizona for over 40 years.

Condolence: Ben was one of my dad’s best customers and I always enjoyed his wit and humor when he stop in the service station. He was one of only two people to call me Bobby. When I would see him at Karen’s dads ranch he always treated me with respect. He was a great vet and man who will be missed. Robert and Karen Willis

Condolence From: BART ABY
Condolence: Benny and my father were 2 of a kind and life long friends from their days at CSU. Reading the article in the paper made me feel like I was reading about my dad. Both dedicated their lives to help animals. He was 2 years younger than my dad but both passed at the same age 92! I am sorry I can't make it the funeral. We honor the friendship and life he shared
with my dad. I feel like I lost my dad again.
